Essence long lasting lipstick in wear berries, blush my lips and natural beauty

Essence came semi-recently with a second line of lipstick in a more classic and less childish packaging. I tried three of their shade one light mauve pink, one bright raspberry and one berry shade.

The formula is not very thick and feels a bit slippery. At first I was a bit disappointed with the dark colours I found the formula was moving around my lips and wasn't very long lasting. I actually now apply them on top of lip liner and I press my lips on a piece of tissue after applying it. This way it really doesn't budge and it stays bold.

Natural beauty
Natural beauty is a light mauve-pink. I the first color I bought from the line and I use it for work. It's a perfect shade for that and I just hate wasting my expensive lipstick to go to work, especially with my heavy coffee consumption.

Blush my lips
This shade is one of their newly released color. It's a bright raspberry shade and you definitely need to be carefull when applying it because it is quite slippery. It's better to be used as a stain. Here's a swatch next to natural beauty that shows the thiness of the formula.

And in action
Wear berries
This is my favorite shade of the three I have. It's a berry color with a strong purple tinge. It looks very cool.

Here it is swatch

I also used essence lip crayon in 06 satin mauve. That shade would be also good with natural beauty.

I bought the lipsticks at Kruidvat for 2.39 euros. This is really more of a moisturizing formula than a long lasting one. I find it good for somebody like me who has chronically dry lips. For the price these are quite satisfactory. I'm also impressed by the original and modern colour selection.

  1. Me too I'm glad. It looks more serious when I pick out my lipstick at work! I think blush my lips is indeed a fun bright color.

  4. That's a smart trick to first apply the lipliner. I agree that just wasting away expensive lipstick on a regular work day is a bit of a waste. I like all three colors on you and you look really gorgeous in the second picture!

  7. I like Blush My Lips on you the most! What a happy bright pink! I've tried a matte red lipstick from Catrice, and it's actually pretty good!

  8. I totally agree. I almost never wear my lip stains even though some are super pretty. I just feels awful on the lips.

  9. Good to hear that the formula is quite moisturizing! No matter how gorgeous a lipstick color is, if it doesn't keep my dry lips hydrated it's a no go for me.

  11. If you want to eat for cheap you can always eat in a brasserie (a bar). Buy a metro pass for the number of days you are visiting and use the metro all the time. If you go in the Eiffel tower go very early and you do not need to pay to go on the top right away. Start by the first floor and see how big the line-up is. You can always repurchase to go completely on top. The army museum is great and relatively cheap. For makeup shopping there is a HUGE sephora on the Champs Élysées and monoprix close to it for more affordable brands.
